Deadly Funny 2023 and 2024 on NITV

For almost two decades the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Deadly Funny program has been all over the continent to unearth bright and bold comedians and yarn-spinners from the oldest culture on earth. This November, not one, but two massive Deadly Funny showcases are hitting NITV and SBS OnDemand.

Kicking off with Deadly Funny 2023, premiering on NITV at 7.30pm on Saturday 23 November, hosted by Aboriginal comedy superstar Sean Choolburra and featuring a cheeky, loud, Black and proud line up of nine national Deadly Funny finalists from across the country. Starring Cameron Ribbons (Kamilaroi) (ACT finalist), David Human (Wiradjuri) & Jessie Human (Wiradjuri Dharug & Dharkinjung) (NSW Finalists), Dora Smith (Yawuru & Noongar) (WA Finalist), Liz Narkle (Noongar) (WA Finalist), Matthew Bonson (Gurindji & Jawoyn) (NT Finalist), Nathan Wright (Alyawarr, Darnley Island & Jawoyn) (VIC finalist), Shahnee Hunter (Djabugay, Ewamian, Mbabaram & Butchulla) (QLD finalist) and Tarsh Jago (Palawa) (VIC Finalist).

One week later, tune in again for Deadly Funny 2024, premiering on NITV at 7.30pm on Saturday 30 November. Hosted by Andy Saunders, catch First Nations comedy legends joined by six of the freshest and funniest national finalists – competing for the Deadly Funny crown. Starring Ben Moodie (Gamilaroi) (VIC finalist), EJ Rovedi (Wiradjuri) (NSW finalist), Kalah Lovegrove (Ngarrindjeri) (SA finalist), Kirsten Lynch (Noongar) (WA finalist), Tyson Walker (Ramindjeri) (QLD finalist) and Zane Harlem (Wiradjuri)(ACT finalist), joined by special guests Kevin Kropinyeri, Janty Blair and Dane Simpson.

Deadly Funny airs on NITV on Saturday 23 and Saturday 30 November, 7.30pm, and will be available to stream on SBS On Demand.
