2025 AACTA nominees announced

On Saturday 7 December 2024, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) announced the nominees for the 2025 AACTA Awards, celebrating the finest achievements in Australian film, television, documentary and online content.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival's The Gala (hosted by Lizzy Hoo) and Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow (hosted by Guy Montgomery) were nominated in the Best Stand-Up Special category. Other nominees included Anne Edmonds: Why Is My Bag All Wet?, Lloyd Langford: Current Mood, Mel Buttle: Let Me Know Either Way? and Rove McManus: Loosey Goosey.

Nominations for Best Comedy Entertainment Program went to Guy Montgomery's Guy-Mon Spelling BeeHard QuizHave You Been Paying Attention?Thank God You're HereThe Cheap Seats and The Weekly with Charlie Pickering.

Congrats also go to Wil Anderson, Anne Edmonds, Tom Gleeson, Guy Montgomery and Charlie Pickering for nominations in the Best Comedy Performer category; Patrick Brammall, Harriet Dyer, Kitty Flanagan, Genevieve Hegney, Asher Keddie, Michael Theo and Felicity Ward for Best Acting in a Comedy; and Aaron Chen for getting a nod in each!

Best Narrative Comedy Series nominations went to AustinBumpColin From AccountsFiskStrife and The Office.

Winners will be announced at the 2025 AACTA Awards Ceremony on Friday 7 February on the Gold Coast.
