General Venue
Entry to the Chinese Museum is step free. Please be aware that the Cohen Place is partially cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.
There are three performance spaces over three levels of the Chinese Museum. Each floor is accessible via a lift or a central stair case (with 15-20 steps between each level). The Ground Floor consists of a foyer space, a bar and ticketing space.
Please seek assistance from a Comedy Festival Front of House staff member if you require help to use the lift to access any venue at the Chinese Museum. Please see How to Book Your Ticket if you require step-free and/or wheelchair access.
Bathrooms
There are bathrooms available on Level 1. An accessible bathroom is available next to the lifts on Level 1.
Bar
There is a pop-up bar in the foyer of Chinese Museum. Patrons are permitted to take drinks into each venue.
The Silk Room is on level 1.
From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. 15+ stairs to Level 1; turn left and the entrance to the performance space is on the right.
For step-free/wheelchair access:
- · Take the lift from the foyer to Level 1
- · Exit the lift to your right and the venue is in front of you.
Accessible seating is available on the left-hand side of the performance space, close to the entrance door. A Comedy Festival Front of House staff member can provide assistance to your seat.
The Tea Room is on level 2.
From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. 30+ stairs (with several returns) to Level 2; turn right and the entrance to the performance space is on the right.
For step-free/wheelchair access:
- · Take the lift from the foyer to Level 2
- · Exit the lift to your right and the door to the venue is down the short corridor and on the left.
Accessible seating is available on the left-hand side of the performance space, close to the entrance door. A Comedy Festival Front of House staff member can provide assistance to your seat.
The Jade Room is on level 3.
From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. 45+ stairs (with several returns per floor) to Level 3; turn right and the entrance to the performance space is on the right.
For step-free/wheelchair access:

- · Exit the lift to your right and the door to the venue is down the short corridor and on the left.
