Lizzy Hoo

Deja Hoo

  • Australia

Fun title, fun show. Lizzy Hoo is back with a brand-new hour of stand-up… actually it’s just the same 10-minute set on repeat. Jokes!

Okay, so have you ever felt like you’re just going through the motions? You have trouble savouring the moments when everything is so transient? You’re kind of stuck on repeat? This show is about the things we do (okay, maybe the things I have done) to get out of that – golf lessons, piano, pickle ball, overcommitting, overnight hikes, scuba diving, bungee jumping, first dates, dinners at fancy restaurants, jobs I’ve never dreamed of and romantic holidays all on my own. Expect oversharing and infectious charm plus a little bit of “nah that’s f#%ked mate”.

It’s been a busy 12 months for Lizzy, appearing on Shaun Micallef’s Origin Odyssey, Have You Been Paying Attention? and Question Everything (to name a few). Lizzy is also creator and host of podcast 'Shituations'.

Suitable for audiences 15+

Language – occasional coarse language

Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
