Alice Tovey

Glass Houses

  • Australia

Just before her wedding, Alice’s father returned home from prison. Glass Houses is a love letter to family, showing us that love conquers all – even the prison industrial complex. Through stand-up, stories and original song, Alice Tovey tells the story of a cancelled wedding, budgies, a diagnosis and a chef in a show about learning our parents are human, and choosing empathy over isolation.

Written and performed by Alice Tovey
Directed by Gen Fricker

Alice Tovey is an award winning cabaret artist, stand up, award winning film maker and comedy goblin. She is a regular contributor to the Sydney Morning Herald and had written for some of Australia's favourite comedy shows including Gruen, Question Everything, and The Weekly with Charlie Pickering.
