Chopin's Nocturne

  • Australia

Special event only for Melbourne International Comedy Festival!

We have created a replica 1830's Parisian salon complete with period furniture and a grand piano to host the show. An immersive space to match the story, and an experience like no other!

I grew up playing classical piano, but failed my conservatory audition at 18. I spent some time focussing on MDMA, then started stand-up in 2011. During the pandemic I came back to the piano, and so I wrote this show to combine them.

It's my favourite piece, Chopin's Nocturne in Eb Major, presented with jokes by a bald dickhead with a beard (me).

'Punchlines that will leave you laughing for days on end... This is what a well-crafted comedy set looks like!' ★★★★★ Adelaide Advertiser

'One of the cleverest minds on the Aussie comedy circuit.' ★★★★½ The West Australian

'He's a masterful storyteller... effortless charisma, disarming honesty and a sharp, curious mind.' ★★★★ The Age

Nominated for Best Show in the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2023 (Long-List)

Please note, the following performances will be filmed: Thu 17 Apr

Suitable for audiences 15+

Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
