A brand new event for the Comedy Festival in 2008, Axed! is a gossipy show-and-tell of the best comedy ideas you never saw. The unpitchable, the unprintable and the simply unwatchable, war stories, b sides and rarities. The greatest comedy you've never seen!

Axed! asks Australia’s best-known professional comedians, actors, and writers to tell us about a piece of work of theirs that never actually saw the light of day.

Perhaps it was “too hot for TV”, or perhaps a network executive simply didn’t understand it, or perhaps it went through so many revisions and rewrites by committee, that it was unrecognisable when compared to the original germ.

Whatever the reason, this intimate special event gives us a peek behind the scenes, and shows us a side of the performers’ work we’ve never, and will never, see again.
