Miriam and The Monkfish: Sophie Kelly Theatre

Miriam has never cooked. In fact, she has barely been in a kitchen in her life. She and her husband Gary have always had ‘help' to do that kind of thing.

Now, they are staring down the barrel of bankruptcy and Gary has invited some potential clients to dinner in a last ditch attempt to save his flailing business. He has told Miriam she has to cook. The fate of their family is in her hands. Miriam must cook to save her life.

Join Miriam in the kitchen and watch as she attempts to emulate the culinary
feats of Jamie, Nigella and Donna with disastrous results. Performed as a
live cooking show, ‘Miriam and The Monkfish' is a hilarious take on our
cultural obsession with food, financial dominance and the importance of ‘saving face' at any cost.
Directed and Co-devised by Tessa King. Production management by Frog-Philip Peck.
