When and where can I get details about the shows in the 2006 Comedy Festival? Full information about the more than 200 shows in the 2006 Comedy Festival can be found online now. Look under the shows tab for a list of everything or find your event in the search section above. You can also get a copy of the official 2006 program Guide in The Age on Friday 31 March 2006. If you miss out copies will also be available at the Melbourne Town Hall, the Festival's Info Booth and from various venues bars and cafes around Melbourne. Where can I get a copy of the 2006 Program Guide?A free copy of this year's Program Guide will be inserted into The Age on Friday 31 March. If you miss out on your copy you can find them around town in cafes, bars and Festival venues including the Melbourne Town Hall. Should I book tickets?Tickets to most Festival shows are on sale now. To avoid disappointment it is advisable to book tickets in advance as many shows do sell out. Visit the ticketing information area of this site for how to book details. Are the seats reserved?For most shows the seats are unreserved. Everyone who has a ticket will get a seat, but if you want to be in the front row it will pay to be in line early. For some shows such as the Gala seats will be reserved. What can I take children to see?There are always many things that are suitable for children to see, such as Class Clowns Grand Final, the activities at the Collingwood Children's Farm and our Big Laugh Out at Federation Square. Some events not listed in this category may also be suitable for families - we hope the details given in each event listing will give you a good indication. What do I wear?You can wear anything you like to see a show in the Comedy Festival. Come straight after work, or from footy training. The best guide is neat casual, but there are no dress codes. Where is the Melbourne Town Hall?The Melbourne Town Hall is located on the corner of Swanston & Collins Streets MELBOURNE in the city. How can I find a comedian to perform at my event?The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has contacts for all the comedians who appear at the Festival. But the question of who is best for your event can be a really tricky one! We recommend you have a look through old Festival guides and if you want to contact someone in particular let us know. Otherwise, call us and we can put you in touch with some good booking agents in your city. |
